We are a family run business and believe in second chances. We found Liberatus to be friendly, effective and efficient. From the initial contact through to post onboarding they were supportive to both us and the candidate.

Our Mission

We believe in the power of work to change lives. Our mission is to connect potential with opportunity – using both temporary and permanent work placements to change the lives of people with criminal records. We deliver measurable value for candidates, employers, and society - reducing reoffending, strengthening local economies, and diversifying workplaces.

Our model

The three pillars

Built on proven principles for sustainable success.

  1. Second Chances, Proven Results

Temporary assignments and permanent job placements give employers a practical route into inclusive hiring while candidates gain valuable experience.

  2. Trusted Risk Assessment

We pre-empt and mitigate risks through our referral and risk assessment process, and support candidates throughout work placements by efficiently signposting to our partners who are experts in supporting people with criminal records.

  3. Social and Economic Impact

If just 1% of prison leavers stayed in work, the UK could save £2.75bn. We aim to scale that saving.

80% of offending is re-offending … that is why getting a job is so vital … employment cuts re-offending in half

Why it matters

Employment is the intervention that works

Each year, 70,000 people leave prison in England and Wales. Yet fewer than 1 in 5 find work straight away, and 7 in 10 remain unemployed six months later. This gap drives reoffending – costing the country £18 billion annually.

Public support is strong: more than 80% of adults back second-chance hiring. Liberatus turns that support into action by making it easy, safe, and effective.
